Deirdre is living in Troon, Ayrshire in Scotland having returned from a couple of years in Rochester in NY state where she taught and formed a collective of wonderful dancers and friends.
Deirdre, is HipswithAttitude, an energetic and professional Tribal Bellydancing Teacher and Performer with over 20 years dance and teaching experience.
She is available for Tribal Style Bellydancing classes and workshops from Beginners and beyond.
Deirdre has been belly dancing since 1989, discovering her hips purposes while travelling through Egypt. She qualified in Josephine Wise’s Academy of Arabic Dance (JWAAD) in London and tribal belly dancing through Gypsy Caravan in Portland OR, USA. In August 2010 she completed Collective Soul level 3 with Paulette Rees-Denis. She will be returning to Portland in May 2012 for further training.
Deirdre also is certified in Pilates mat training and practices yoga and teaches this to complement working with the core.
Deirdre uses her knowledge of the culture and history of the dance to underpin classes and hopes to encourages her students to develop an understanding and respect and enjoyment of all styles of bellydance!
